When I signed on to become the new publisher for Macaroni Kid Lakeland, Mulberry and Bartow I had pretty clear goals and plans. My goal was to provide all the information I could on events, activities, places to visit, places to explore, to provide the most comprehensive information on what to do for fun with your family locally. My plan was to go out and explore as much as possible to be able to provide not only information but first hand accounts of kid friendly places, venues, services and more. But as we all know, plans and goals shift and change. While I still want to focus on providing you with all the latest information on what to do for fun with your family I would also like help small businesses in the area.
What does that mean for you and Macaroni Kid? For starters it means we have invited a few small businesses to write an article. We want you to know who is behind the pretty Instagram and Facebook images. What these companies offer and how you too can help support them. In last weeks newsletter we featured an article written by Swan City Chandlery owner Kelly Lyle (you can read that HERE). Swan City Chandlery is a locally based company that offers hand poured candles - they smell amazing. This week we have an article introducing Melissa Johnston of Mel's Desserts and Delights (you can read that HERE). Mel makes beautiful desserts that not only look good but taste good.
In the future we hope to offer more small local businesses the opportunity to introduce themselves to you, our subscribers. We will continue to add events to the calendars so that you can continue to find your family fun® with us!
