By Maricarmen Chavez-Walker March 26, 2020

Miami’s premier eco-adventure park and events destination, Jungle Island, will introduce new virtual online learning opportunities for kids’ ages 5 to 12 years old. Visit the park’s Facebook or Instagram pages at 11 a.m. each weekday and join  Jungle Island’s Education Manager Emma Guss. Ms. Guss will post cool photos and a weblink where families can locate the lesson of the day. There will be new themes every week, ranging from Everglades Exploration, Spread Your Wings, Primate Practices and more.

Every Tuesday and Thursday "Homework" will be assigned. Each assignment is full of surprises and is designed to keep kids’ busy for hours, while they discover fun facts about animals, protected national parks, and the crucial role they can play in conserving wildlife and endangered species.

Families will have the opportunity to virtually meet Señor Jefe, a popular Andean condor at Jungle Island; Mama Cass, the only tame cassowary on the planet; Luna the rambunctious black-and-white ruffed lemur; Rocco, an adorable and very mischievous capuchin monkey, to name a few. Additionally, children will also get to explore the marshy wetlands of the Everglades and the wildlife that call it home. Best of all, participants will receive updates on what Jungle Island’s beloved animals are up to while the attraction is temporarily closed to park patrons in support of worldwide efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
