The Florida Tropics SC are a professional indoor soccer team that have just finished their third year playing in the MASL (Major Arena Soccer League). They also play professional outdoor soccer in both the United Premier Soccer League in Auburndale, FL and in the newly established USL League Two (Previously PDL) in Lakeland, FL. This is the third summer the club is running these Tropics Soccer Summer Camps and they have had great success with them in the Polk County community. Half day and full day camps are available, coached by Lakeland Tropics and Florida Tropics players/coaches.
During the summer camps the kids will learn how to improve as an individual player, as well as a team player while enjoying a fun environment. In the beginning of the day for the camps, the kids will train the basics of soccer through different drills under the supervision of our professional athletes and coaches. This will then be followed by lunch for the kids who are a part of the full day camp. Towards the end of the day is when the kids will start using the skills learned in the beginning of the day in both short sided and full sided scrimmages. There will be coolers filled with ice and water for the kids as well as plenty of water breaks so that they stay hydrated throughout the day.
The main coach who will oversee these soccer camps will be Lucas Teixeira who is both an experienced professional indoor soccer player for the Florida Tropics as well as the Head Coach for our new UPSL (United Premiere Soccer League) professional team that play in the Lake Myrtle Sport Complex in Auburndale, FL. He also has years of experience with coaching youth soccer at all ages from recreational to competitive teams in our Lakeland Tropics FC Academy. The kids will undergo a variety of drills and training that he has learned through his experience and knowledge as a professional coach and player.
The following dates are the four weeks that we will behaving these camps:
- June 3-7, 2019 (9:00am – 12:00pm half day, 9:00am – 3:00pmfull day)
- June 24-28, 2019 (9:00am – 12:00pm half day, 9:00am –3:00pm full day)
- July 15-19, 2019 (9:00am – 12:00pm half day, 9:00am –3:00pm full day)
- August 5-9, 2019 (9:00am – 12:00pm half day, 9:00am –3:00pm full day)
Half day camps are $200 for a week, full day camps are $280 for a camp. Half Day camp includes a shirt, Full Day Camp includes lunch and a shirt.
