The addition of whole grain O’s to the traditional mix of flakes and bunches delivers crunch and variety in every spoonful. Since day one, Honey Bunches of Oats has been dedicated to delicious, and this new variety continues in the tradition of providing big flavor with an even bigger crunch. The original recipe of crispy flakes and crunchy granola oat bunches, with just a touch of honey, was created in 1986. Long-time Post Foods employee Vernon J. Herzing and his daughter, Kimberly, mixed together different Post cereals, creating what would later become Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted. The delicious, crispy, crunchy and nutritious cereal was introduced to the market in 1989 and quickly became a runaway success.
